TECHNICAL SUPPLEMENT

A few JSD80 units were shipped with JSDO-80 (Output Card) DSP code e050215a. This code may not allow execution of the saved EQ settings after the first power cycle. The EQ settings are retained and will still show up on your laptop when viewed with the JSD80 Graphic User Interface.

To provide the best quality sound and restore EQ settings it is recommended that the EQ DSP firmware on the JSDO-80 be updated with DSP code e051025a or later (e)yymmdd(a=rev.).

In most cases upgrading the firmware is not urgent and may be done at your earliest convenience or regularly scheduled maintenance. You many continue to run your JSD80 as is. The unit will still function reliably and provide excellent quality sound.

To determine what EQ firmware you have on your unit, connect to the JSD80 with the JSD80 Graphic User Interface. Select the "Profile" Tab. Look in the box labeled "EQ Firmware Version". If it is e051025a or greater, disregard this TB.

If your JSD80 has e050215a, you may:

1. Upgrade the firmware at your site by a qualified cinema technician. Please contact USL, Inc. at the address and number listed below for details.
